Company Testimonial
Total time savings on this one job, (not including original patterning), was 9.35 man hours and 11 yards of fabric. The Carlson allowed us to deliver the product faster and at less cost. Not to mention next time we already have the pattern and nest! So upon delivery we told the customer what the price would be if we were to get a new order and they were shocked that we would actually reduce the price by a significant amount. I just got a call from them and they are now getting ready to place an order for 100 more for housekeeping!"
Anyone sitting on the fence regarding automated cutting needs to get off it and get with Tom Carlson or risk becoming the more expensive supplier. The future is now. "

Story
Marco Island Canvas, now a fourth generation canvas an upholstery shop, has implemented the Carlson Design digitizing/plotting/cutting system into their shop for 2012. They started out digitizing their existing pattern library and now are digitizing all new jobs, small and large. According to the owner, Ed, "Once the other 11 staff saw how well the unit worked to take the monotony of marking and cutting out of their time they are now asking to have some or all of their work with simple shapes and repeat work moved to the Carlson."

"Happy on first time use!
We recently took delivery of a CD PT-72 x 27’ cutting table. This is our first experience with a cutter/plotter. The first customers order we wanted to try was making was an order for 11 rolling bin liners, made from Navy Tuff Stuff for the Marriott Resort’s activities dept. The finished liner requires 11 pieces of various shapes and sizes that needed to marked and cut out to create one full product. Previously it took us 7 yards and about 45 minutes to cut out each one and about 1 hour to sew.
We used the Tee bar to digitize all custom shaped parts, and draw lines for sewn parts alignment and then used Carlson’s simple software to make various sized rectangles. We then created a tight nest of all of those patterns for our cut file. This took us 4 hours to do and I expect we will get much faster as this was the very first time we used the machine & software other than training.
It now takes only 4 minutes and 36 seconds to mark and cut out, (6 minutes cycle to cycle), and because of the optimized nesting we only used 6 yards of fabric Vs. 7. The waste left over from cuts I could ball up in my hand and was easily less than 1/4 yard if not less. " - Ed Skryzynski, Owner - 2/12
