Inflatables and Airships

Story

LTA Projects has been using Carlson Design plotter/cutters for almost 2 decades to make inflatables and airships.  In 2011, they upgraded their 1999 CP-101-72 to our new USB power CTx-78" plotter/cutter.  The new CTx was 6" wider than their old machine, so they widened their table by 6".  Off came the old tracks and on went the new -- we moved old files to the new computer and VIOLA, in one day they have a new plotter/cutter.  http://ltaprojects.com/

Results

Their new USB driven cutter uses Plotmaster USB (PMU), which features a new DXF importer that will read any DXF from any CAD program!  The new track and USB controller are also much faster and even more accurate...patterns that used to take 45minutes, now complete in under 9minutes.  One observer when watching the new speeds said, "I'm excited and terrified at the same time!"  another said, "gone are the days of 30minute plots".  The wider plotter/cutter let's them work on 70" wide fabric rolls, which means less waste and better nesting.
